The Executive Committee Meeting was held in Helnan Palestine Hotel. Mr. Enan Galaly, member of the IAUP Council of Senior Advisors, generously hosted the meeting on the historical bay of Alexandria. Highlights for the meeting were: Universities for Africa and LDCs, Alliance of Civilizations, the Academic Impact Project, and the IAUP/UN Commission on Disarmament Education, Conflict Resolution and Peace.

The WISE Conference for the Qatar Foundation and the Higher Colleges of Technology for the United Arab Emirates were also discussed. The two main themes for the Seminar were Higher Education in Africa: Progresses and Challenges; and H.E. in the Arab World - Quality Assurance.
