IAUP Semi-Annual Meeting in Bogota, Colombia

The next IAUP Semi Annual meeting will be held in Bogota, Colombia from Friday, March 23, 2012 (beginning with an evening opening reception) to Sunday, March 25th, 2012 (concluding with an evening Gala Dinner). Our host for this meeting is Dr. Carlos Felipe Escobar Roa, Rector, Universidad El Bosque.

Following the 2011 Triennial, IAUP President Michael Adams announced that during his presidency what were previously the semi-annual meetings of the IAUP Executive Committee would become instead the semi-annual meetings of the organization as a whole - open to all members.

IAUP Semi-Annual Meeting Convened in Baden, Austria

Following the very successful Triennial in New York City, IAUP President J. Michael Adams proposed a new schedule of Semi-Annual Meetings to fill the gap between triennials. All IAUP members are invited and encouraged to attend these gatherings of higher education chief executives as they move around the world.

IAUP at WISE 2011

This month in Doha, The International Association of University Presidents served as one of six organizational partners for the 2011 World Innovation Summit for Education, along with the Institute for International Education, UNESCO, Rand, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, and Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).

WISE Program for Educational Leadership

The second WISE Program for Education Leadership took place in Doha, Qatar from September 25 - 28, 2011. Sponsored by the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, and co-organized by IAUP, this four-day workshop is conducted annually to help prepare the next generation of global higher education chief executives to manage the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.

IAUP Celebrates XVI Triennial

Every three years, IAUP hosts a Triennial, which is the largest gathering of chief executive officers from universities around the world. The 16th IAUP Triennial was held on June 17-20, 2011 at the Marriot Marquis Hotel, directly overlooking Broadway and Times Square in New York City. The Triennial marked the transition of leadership from President Barham Madain Ayub (2008-2011) to President J. Michael Adams (2011-2014).
