Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific

20th Anniversary

We are delighted to announce that our sister organization, the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP,) will celebrate its 20th Anniversary in July 2015, which will coincide with the 25th Founding Anniversary of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) where the AUAP Headquarter is housed. As IAUP member, we deem it important to invite you to this event as AUAP and IAUP are partner organizations.

In connection with these celebrations, the following events are being planned to commemorate these auspicious occasions which will all be held at Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) Campus in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand from 22 to 30 July 2015. In particular, the following AUAP activities are being planned on 22 to 27 July 2015:

  • The 1st AUAP Student English Debate Competition (each member university could nominate 3 students)
  • The 38th AUAP Executive Board Meeting
  • The 1st Student English Speech Contest
  • The 14th AUAP Forum on “AUAP 20 Years-Higher Education Cooperation In ASEAN After The Integration”
  • The 3rd AUAP Country Chapter Chairs Meeting and
  • The Bilateral/Multilateral Signing Ceremony
As part of the 25th Anniversary of SUT, the following conferences are going to be held from 28 to 30 July 2015 and AUAP members are welcome to attend:
  • World University of Technology Colloquium: “Globalization Impacts & Challenges”
  • SEATUC Symposium
For details of the AUAP activities, kindly visit the AUAP website: www.auapforum2015.sut.ac.th for further information particularly on the tentative program schedules and registration procedures. An important highlight of all AUAP Conferences is the opportunity to sign Memoranda of Understanding with other member universities for developing collaborative programs such as faculty and student exchanges, and many more activities.
The AUAP was established 20 years ago to serve as a platform so that colleges and universities can have a unified voice on issues that affect the development of higher education in the greater Asia and the Pacific region. We want to ensure that our voices can be heard as one by policy makers in our region. Let us rally behind the AUAP by encouraging more colleges and universities to become members. This organization will enable us to strengthen our network so that together we can have more academic exchange programs of faculty and students, cultural exchanges, sports activities like inter-university basketball games, leadership training for our students, summer camps, and cooperation in developing a common or unified quality assurance system for our institutions. Be a part of AUAP in strengthening our educational system in the unified ASEAN Community and in the greater Asia-Pacific basin. Let us invite more of our friends and colleagues to the 20th Anniversary celebration of AUAP.
The event organizers look forward to extending to you and your friends the traditional Thai hospitality as well as welcoming you to Suranaree University of Technology, Nakhon Rachasima, Thailand.
