Australia Semi-Annual Conference Update
After the great success of the Oxford and Wroxton IAUP 50th Anniversary Conference, held last May 22-24, the third semi-annual meeting of this triennium (2014-2017) will be held in Gold Coast, Australia on October 14-16, 2015. The host institution will be Bond University and the President and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Tim Brailsford and his team are ready to receive those of you who decide to participate.
We wish to remind all members of IAUP that any member from any region of the world is welcome to participate. Naturally, members of the Asia Pacific region are particularly encouraged to make an effort to attend, taking advantage of the geographic proximity. We feel certain that there will be participants from Australia and the neighbouring area.
As it is customary, the program will include meetings of the Executive Committee and the Council of Senior Advisors, as well as the IAUP Board of Directors and the regional Chairs.
The conference program on day Three will also include two special panel sessions which are sure to generate robust discussion and will focus on two of the biggest challenges facing universities today: Meeting Technology Challenges and Forging Successful International Partnerships. You will hear from a panel of expert speakers who will discuss how information technology continues to challenge and create opportunities for universities today and how it continues to impact on the evolution of higher education and institutions throughout the world. Special Session Two will discuss how international collaborations and partnerships, through a myriad of ways, have become integral to universities in supporting their international aspirations. You will also hear from a senior representative from the Australian Government as to how universities and international education can help in contributing to soft diplomacy power.
