IAUP delivers opening speech at Silk Road Education Cooperation and Exchange Forum
On behalf of the IAUP, President Dr. Fernando León-García discussed “Promoting Education Cooperation and Exchanges Across Borders and Across the Belt and Road Countries for a Better Common Future, and for a Solidarity Based Higher Education”, in the Silk Road Education Cooperation and Exchange Forum held on August 15, 2022, in Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xian.
“As we continue to navigate from what has been a once in a lifetime challenge for higher education around the world we anticipate that the initiatives and conversations from this forum will bring about both renewed perspectives from challenges we were already facing, as well as developing strategies, new research approaches and technology for a sustainable future”, said León-García.
The IAUP President concluded that in an increasingly fragmented world, universities must find new ways of connecting students, faculty, and stakeholders to be individuals with the intellectual and moral capacity to become agents of change that positively impact national and international communities.
