Higher Education Institutions Redefine their Role in the Era of AI
The latest issue of the Mexican publication Panorama Universitario (Issue 321, November 2024, pages 10–11) shined a spotlight on the IAUP Triennial Conference, diving into the different discussion including the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. The article explores how AI is reshaping various aspects of higher education, including teaching methods, curriculum design, strategies for improving student success, streamlining admissions processes, and enhancing management systems, as well as the challenges and limitations of adopting AI in education. Key issues include security and data privacy risks, biases in algorithms, the need for rules and regulations, and the ethical dimension of integrating AI into educational practices.
